Insurance Coverage

Although every insurance plan is different, many cover testing for a variety of genetic diseases, including those found more frequently in people with Jewish ancestry. Your doctor’s office, or a medical genetics program, can help you to determine whether your particular plan covers screening.

If screening is not covered by insurance, the Canavan Foundation and/or the Jewish Genetic Disease Consortium may be able to recommend low-cost options or sources of special funding.  Contact us for more information.
